Jennifer L. Braster

Co-managing partner and co-founder

Jennifer has more than two decades of legal experience in Nevada, having practiced since 2003. Prior to forming Naylor & Braster with John Naylor in 2014, Jennifer worked for nearly a decade as a commercial litigator at a premier commercial litigation boutique firm in Las Vegas and at another prominent Nevada-based law firm.

Jennifer has a wide range of litigation experience in both federal and state courts. She has appeared regularly before both the Eighth Judicial District Court and United States District Court for Nevada, and has both first-chair and second-chair trial experience. Jennifer has handled matters in front of the Nevada Real Estate Division, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Nevada Equal Rights Commission, and Nevada Labor Commission.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has achieved numerous seven-figure judgments in her clients’ favor. She has briefed several matters to both the Nevada Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and has represented clients in a variety of business conflicts, including high-stakes business partnership disputes, corporate ownership disputes, property disputes, dissolutions, construction disputes and marijuana licensing litigation. In one of several notable decisions, she successfully represented a marijuana dispensary licensee in a month-long trial challenging the State of Nevada’s awarding of recreational dispensary licenses. In addition to her business litigation history, Jennifer has also extensive experience in consumer finance litigation and regularly represents one of the top three credit reporting agencies in credit reporting disputes.

Jennifer is a frequent contributor to legal publications, writing on litigation and emerging issues in the law. Her recent work explores how courts determine reasonable limits on discovery, the human side of legal practice, including burnout and mental health, evolving regulatory protections for gig workers, and practical guidance for litigating complex cases in Nevada’s business court.

As an avid animal lover, Jennifer strives to advance the protections to animals in Nevada through her litigation practice. She was a founding member of the State Bar of Nevada’s Animal Law Section and has represented clients in animal custody disputes and property matters involving animals. Jennifer has also represented clients in civil rights matters involving the shooting of dogs by authorities.
